Important Information Before Your Appointment

To help your appointment go smoothly, please review the following information:

Arrive early: Please plan to arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time.

Medications: Bring a list of any medications you are currently taking.

Bring a support person:

• • Please bring an adult who is familiar with your history and can help complete paperwork. This person will need to remain on site during your appointment in case questions arise.
    
    

Additional guests:

• • Please limit extra people to no more than two total, including the support person.

  • For everyone’s comfort, please do not bring children under age 16 unless they are the individual being examined.
    
    

Appointment length: Testing may take up to 2 hours, so please plan accordingly.

If you’re feeling unwell:

• • If you are sick, please do not come to your appointment.

  • Call 828-218-9167 to let us know if you are unable to attend.
    
    

Arrival at the office: If no one is in the office when you arrive, please wait—someone will be with you shortly.

About disability determinations: Psychologists do not make determinations or provide reports directly to clients. All decisions are made by Disability Services.

Late arrivals:

• • If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your appointment will need to be canceled. Disability Services will contact you to reschedule.
